The new 3rd generation version of the AK47-X, like the 47, is identical to its predecessor in features and function. The two major differences are a new fabric – 40% Kevlar instead of 28% previously – and an all-welded welded construction, making it fully water-resistant.

There are two feature alterations. The ice-axe carrying system which has been updated to stay abreast of modern tool development (so many have neither adzes nor hammers) and the top access to the main compartment now has a roll-top closure instead of a draw-cord.

The AK47-X is really an AK47 with an X. And what is this X-factor? A floating lid design to increase the load capacity, a configuration preferred by many mountaineers. Apart from this, don’t go looking for any other differences – there aren’t any.

The AK47-X is available in three back-lengths.
